Ironside Farrar has been a pioneer of place-making supporting the delivery of local community (local facilities /heritage/ greenspace/ community ownership) projects working with local communities.
Wide range of delivered projects across Scotland and Northern England has developed a clear sense of what works, and the core routes to success. Positive local projects include HELIX-Kelpies, Irvine Harbourside, Dumfries Dock Park, Saughton Park, Hynish Heritage have all unlocked place and community-based opportunity.
Vision supported by clear deliverability has created robust solutions aligning place-based visioning with funding and real-world delivery. Consultation and engagement have been at the heart of projects through all stages from Feasibility Studies Local Co-Design, Community Based Projects, working with Development Trusts and SOIC’s.
Liveable Places are places that meet local needs and support local communities. Our work on liveable neighbourhoods, Place Standard 2, area regeneration plans all seek to promote liveability building on local services and local facilities.
